Mr. Zahoor ul Haq is currently serving as lecturer in English as well as Deputy Director Student Societies at University of Chitral. He has been serving as lecturer in English at Shaheed Benazir University, Chitral Campus since 1st October 2011 through 30th June 2017, when the sub-campus of SBB University got merged with the sub-campus of AWKUM and upgraded into the University of Chitral. He has remained the Head of the Department of English Language & Literature twice at SBB University Chitral Campus, as well as the pioneer Head/In-charge of the Department of English Language & Literature at the University of Chitral.
Zahoor ul Haq did his Master’s in English Literature & Applied Linguistics from the department of English & Applied Linguistics at the University of Peshawar. His M.Phil is, moreover, in progress for the last ½ years. He has vast and enriching experience of teaching English Poetry, American Literature, South Asian Literature, 20th Century English Fiction and Nonfiction, Pakistani Literature in English, Philosophy, Sociolinguistics, Stylistics and Psycholinguistics.
Apart from academic experience in the university he has also taken part in Khowar Curriculum Development process as well as Teachers’ Training Manuals Development under the supervision of the Directorate of Curriculum & Teachers’ Education (DCTE) of the Govt; of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He has also contributed to Multilingual Education Curriculum for Khowar under the supervision of Forum for Language Initiatives (FLI) Islamabad. Moreover, he takes keen interest in translation of Khowar folk literature into English. The first volume of his bilingual work titled “Khowar Folktales Volume-1” is at the final stages of publication at Lok Virsa Pakistan.
